​Dr. Pan was invited to attend U.S.–China EVB2012 workshop.

The dean of advanced materials school Dr. Pan has been invited by the department of energy of USA to attend the 6th U.S.–China Electric Vehicle and Battery Technology Workshop on August 23-24, 2012, to help advance the goals of the U.S.-China Electric Vehicles Initiative announced in November 2009 by President Barack Obama and President Hu Jintao. Dr. Pan will communicate with the leaders of the conference and give a talk about the innovation and the key achievements in the School of Advanced materials of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School and the typical power cells firms in Shenzhen during the conference.
 
 The U.S.-China Electric Vehicles Initiative involves cooperation on the development of vehicle and battery codes and standards, joint demonstration programs, the development of a joint technical roadmap to identify research and development (R&D) needs for both vehicles and batteries, and improving the public’s understanding of the benefits of electric vehicle technologies.
