Personal Profile

Associate Professor (2012–present) and Doctoral Advisor at Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Peking University (2000), an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University (2004), a Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry from Brown University (2007), and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley (2007–2012). He has published 21 academic papers, including one article in Science. In 2007, he received the Potter Prize for Best Thesis in Chemistry and the Sigma Xi Award for Outstanding Research from Brown University, and was elected an Associate Member of the Sigma Xi Society. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society.

Research Focus

(1) Artificial design and computational modeling of novel materials; molecular-level design and development of new materials, including high-efficiency solar cells.

(2) Non-adiabatic dynamics in complex systems; charge transfer and energy transport; quantum coherence; reaction dynamics and quantum control.

(3) Development of new energy materials; molecular-scale theories for efficient energy conversion, storage, and transport; lithium-ion power batteries.

(4) Non-equilibrium statistical theory in condensed matter systems; many-body problems; enhanced sampling methods; molecular modeling of non-equilibrium dissipation.
