On September 19, the 2025 edition of the Global Top 2% Scientists List, compiled by Professor John P. A. Ioannidis’s team at Stanford University, was released, marking the eighth edition of this prestigious ranking. Based on the Scopus database, the list provides standardized metrics such as total citations, h-index, co-author-adjusted hm-index, citations by author position, and a composite indicator (c-score). To account for differences across research fields, the list categorizes scientists into 22 fields and 174 subfields, aiming to offer an objective and accurate measure of scientists’ long-term academic impact. The list is divided into two categories: the “Career-long Impact Ranking” and the “Single-year Impact Ranking.”
According to the statistics, 24 scholars from Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School were included in the 2025 Global Top 2% Scientists “Career-long Impact” list. Among them, 6 scholars from the School of Advanced Materials (SAM) were recognized (in no particular order): Jin Zhang, Wenchang Tan, Feng Pan, Ruqiang Zou, Hong Meng, and Shihe Yang.
