On September 19, 2024, a delegation from BYD Group visited Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen). The delegation first toured the School of Advanced Materials (SAM) and HSBC Business School, and then held a university–enterprise cooperation symposium with the leadership and relevant departments of PKU Shenzhen. In addition, a campus car exhibition and recruitment presentation were organized. Participants included Zhen Yang, Executive Vice Dean of PKU Shenzhen; Xiaopeng An, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Yunlong Xu, Global Recruitment Director of BYD Group; and Hongtao Gu, Director of the Human Resources Department for the Shenzhen Region at BYD Group, among others.

Accompanied by Xiulan Huang, Deputy Director of the Foundation Secretariat and Alumni Affairs Office, representatives from BYD Group first visited the laboratories of the SAM in Nanshan Zhiyuan and HSBC Business School located to gain an on-site understanding of their development and facilities. The BYD representatives noted that several professors from PKU Shenzhen have already established close collaborations with BYD. They emphasized that, in facing global markets, establishing comprehensive cooperation with universities serves as an important path for enterprises to continuously enhance innovation and competitiveness.

Afterward, representatives from both sides held a university–enterprise cooperation symposium, chaired by Zhen Yang. Yang provided an overview of PKU Shenzhen, covering key data, academic structure, admissions and teaching, scientific research, and internationalization. He elaborated on the school’s development and achievements over the past 23 years since its establishment. Yang emphasized that PKU Shenzhen upholds the development philosophy of being “problem-oriented, north–south synergized, AI-driven, and innovation-integrated”, and will continue to deepen reforms, expand openness, and write new “spring stories” of Peking University in Shenzhen with broader vision, greater ambition, and stronger determination.
Yunlong Xu highly praised the remarkable progress and achievements of PKU Shenzhen. He presented in detail BYD’s technological layout and business development blueprint in national innovation fields, highlighting the company’s influence in electronics, automobiles, new energy, and rail transit. His remarks demonstrated BYD’s strong comprehensive strength and vast potential for future growth. Xu also introduced BYD’s talent development framework, vividly illustrating a comprehensive support system that accompanies employees from onboarding to career advancement—using talent to drive technological innovation and using technology to fulfill people’s aspirations for a better life.
Subsequently, representatives from the School of Electronic and Computer Engineering, the SAM, Human Resources Office, Scientific Research Office, Student Affairs Office, and the Foundation/Alumni Office discussed potential collaboration opportunities with BYD from their respective perspectives, including talent cultivation, research transformation, campus recruitment, talent introduction, and foundation cooperation.
Finally, both parties exchanged souvenirs and expressed mutual expectations to join hands and create a bright future together.

That afternoon, BYD Group also hosted a new energy vehicle-themed exhibition on campus, showcasing three of its major brands — DENZA, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang U8. The event featured professional technical presentations, allowing visitors to experience firsthand BYD’s outstanding capabilities and forward-looking vision in the field of new energy vehicles.

With the conclusion of the recruitment fair, BYD Group’s visit to PKU Shenzhen came to a successful close. It is believed that, under the leadership of BYD, more outstanding talents will shine brightly in the field of science and technology, working together to build a better future.
This event was jointly organized by the Student Affairs Office, the Foundation Secretariat/Alumni Affairs Office of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, and the Human Resources Department of BYD Co., Ltd. Participants included Chenghuan Xiao, Director of the Chassis Technology Development Center at BYD Automotive Engineering Research Institute; Qing Yuan, Senior Algorithm Expert at the Automotive New Technology Research Institute; Zhijiao Lin, HR Manager of the Battery Business Group; Jiasheng Wu, HR Manager of the Automotive Engineering Research Institute; Wang Shi, Recruitment Manager for the Shenzhen & Northeast Region of BYD HR Department; and Feng Zhou, Senior R&D Engineer at the Automotive Engineering Research Institute and an alumnus of the 2023 cohort of the SAM, along with other responsible persons.
Leaders and representatives from the School of Electronic and Computer Engineering, the SAM, Student Affairs Office, Human Resources Office, Scientific Research Office, and Foundation Secretariat/Alumni Affairs Office of PKU Shenzhen also attended the event.
