To celebrate Teachers’ Day, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School hosted a two-day Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) cultural event on September 9 and 10 at the Student Activity Center in Yanyuan Building 6.
The event brought traditional Chinese wellness practices to campus, offering faculty and students a chance to relax, explore Chinese culture, and enjoy a well-deserved break from their busy schedules.

The cultural fair opened on the afternoon of September 9, inviting students, faculty, and staff to discover how traditional Chinese medicine remains part of everyday life.
Participants explored the aromas of Chinese herbal teas, created their own herbal sachets and bracelets, and sampled snacks made with traditional medicinal ingredients. Through these hands-on experiences, they learned about the herbs, ingredients, and cultural traditions associated with TCM.
A stamp-collecting activity added a playful element to the fair, encouraging visitors to explore different booths and take part in a variety of experiences.

A Chance to Relax and Recharge
The event also offered opportunities to learn about traditional Chinese approaches to health and wellness.
At the consultation booths, TCM practitioners answered questions about common concerns such as neck and shoulder discomfort, eye strain, and sleep difficulties. Visitors could also experience traditional practices, including gua sha (scraping therapy), cupping, and ear acupressure.
Professional practitioners provided one-on-one consultations and massage therapy for faculty and staff, offering personalized suggestions on daily routines, diet, and wellness practices.
