As the autumn breeze brings refreshing coolness and the fragrance of osmanthus fills the air, the bright moon shines high in the clear sky. On the evening of September 27, the School of Advanced Materials (SAM) held the warm and joyful Mid-Autumn Festival event “Charming New Materials, Fun Mid-Autumn,” jointly organized by the Graduate Student Union and the 2025 Master’s Cohort Party and Youth League Branches, in Room 201 of the School of Transnational Law (STL), adding a heartfelt touch of festivity to this season of reunion.

Teamwork and Laughter Overflowing

To break the initial shyness and ignite the enthusiasm of the crowd, the event thoughtfully featured three rounds of team-based games: “Picture Guessing,” “Draw and Guess,” and “Crazy Mooncake Catch.” Teams of five worked together to earn points and advance through each challenge. “Picture Guessing” sparked quick thinking and bursts of laughter, with witty answers drawing waves of applause; “Draw and Guess” was full of fun and creativity, where silent understanding brought teammates closer; and the “Crazy Mooncake Catch” challenge pushed the excitement to its peak, filling the room with festive energy and joy. Every focused gaze and every celebratory high-five became one of the brightest moments of this autumn night.

Crafting Memories, Bringing the Mid-Autumn Festival Home

After the lively and joyful games came a moment of warmth and creativity — the handmade gift session, where participants made snow-skin mooncakes and DIY lanterns to “bring the Mid-Autumn Festival home.” Gathered around the mooncake station, everyone joined in each step of the process — mixing fillings, kneading dough, wrapping, and molding. Meanwhile, in the creative lantern-making area, soft lights from rabbit-, moon-, and hexagonal palace-shaped lanterns filled the room with gentle glow and heartfelt sentiment. These handcrafted gifts, made with care by the students themselves, were not only festive tokens for the Mid-Autumn celebration but also the warmest keepsakes of this beautiful night.

Harvesting Joy, Continuing the Warmth

When the moon is full, families come together — and so did we, celebrating this beautiful Mid-Autumn night in laughter and connection. Through joyful interactions, we shared warmth and friendship under the same bright moon. As the saying goes, “May we all be blessed with longevity, though thousands of miles apart, we share the beauty of the same moon.” On this special occasion, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all faculty, students, and families of the SAM: Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, may your homes be filled with peace and happiness! And may our great motherland continue to prosper in harmony and strength!
