The 2025 list includes 6,310 researchers from 543 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 83 primary disciplines across 10 academic fields designated by the Ministry of Education.

Widely regarded as a key indicator of institutional academic impact, the list offers valuable insights into the core competitiveness of higher education institutions and research organizations in key technological areas. It also provides data-driven decision support for optimizing discipline development, enhancing talent strategies, refining research structures, and fostering industry–academia collaboration.
