I. Course Introduction

This graduate course focuses on material behavior under physical fields, covering electrical, magnetic, optical, and thermal properties:

· Conduction: ionic/electronic conductivity, mobility

· Dielectrics: polarization, permittivity, loss, breakdown

· Ferroelectricity/piezoelectricity

· Magnetism: classification, ferromagnetism, domains

· Light–matter interaction: refraction, absorption, luminescence

· Thermal properties: heat capacity, expansion, conduction

It connects theory with real materials and applications.
