I. Conference Overview
Hosted by Peking University and organized by Wanhua Chemical Group, the Octagon Bay Innovation Conference (OBIC) is dedicated to becoming China’s most influential scientific summit for the new materials industry.
Since its inception in 2023, OBIC has successfully convened leading experts across disciplines. The inaugural conference, themed “Battery Materials · Empowering the Future,” attracted 800+ scholars to Yantai, earning widespread acclaim. In 2024, the second edition expanded its focus to biomaterials, AI, and new energy, featuring nine parallel forums (e.g., advanced biomedical materials, AI for sustainability) and drawing 1,000+ global attendees.
In 2025, OBIC enters its third year with a landmark upgrade: a strategic partnership with the Nanomaterials and Devices Division of the Chinese Materials Research Society (CMRS). This year’s conference will delve into nanomaterials, optoelectronic materials, battery technologies, and AI, with 14 thematic sessions uniting top-tier national laboratories to accelerate industrial translation. OBIC 2025 will serve as a platform for government-industry-academia collaboration, fostering interdisciplinary breakthroughs and commercialization of cutting-edge research.
We cordially invite global experts to gather on the shores of Bohai Bay this summer, where ideas will ignite innovation and collective wisdom will drive the high-quality development of new materials.

IV. Call for Abstracts
1. Submission Formats:
・Oral Presentation: Approved speakers will receive a signed certificate from the Conference Chair.
・Poster Presentation: Eligible for “Best Poster Awards” (certificate + cash prize).
2. Submission Guidelines:
・Content must align with the conference theme and comply with confidentiality policies.
・Submit via the official conference website (https://obic2025.scimeeting.cn) or scan the QR code. Follow the abstract template and formatting rules online.
・All submissions will be reviewed by the Academic Committee; authors will be notified of acceptance and presentation format.
・Deadline: July 15, 2025.
