Peking University 2026 Spring Semester Exchange Program – Call for Applications

Time:Mar 6, 2026

Hits:

Peking University’s Education Abroad Program (EAP) offers a range of international opportunities, including semester exchange programmes, summer and winter schools, degree programmes, and internships with international organisations. Applications for the 2026 Spring Semester Exchange Programme are now open. Eligible students are encouraged to apply based on their current academic standing at PKU. Full programme details can be found in the attached document.

I. Eligibility

Full-time, officially registered PKU students (undergraduate and postgraduate) who are not in their graduating semester.

II. How to Apply

Applications must be submitted online via the PKU Portal: Personal Portal → Overseas Study Programmes.

III. Required Documents

1. Personal ID photo

2. Recommendation letter in Chinese

3. Academic transcript in Chinese

4. Proof of language proficiency (in the language of instruction at the host institution)

IV. Selection Process

1. Initial review of applications to determine shortlist for interviews.

2. Interview panel composed of representatives from the Office of International Relations, the Office of Educational Affairs, the Graduate School, and faculty members.

3. Shortlisted candidates will be recommended to host institutions, which will make the final admission decisions.

4. Interviews will take place in mid-to-late April.

V. Application Deadline

10:00 AM, 3 April (Thursday)

VI. Funding Support

Since 2020, with the support of the Peking University Education Foundation, EAP has been able to offer financial assistance to selected students through various donations. Students admitted to the exchange programme may apply for EAP funding.

VII. Important Notes

1. This is a supplementary recruitment round for exchanges taking place in Spring Semester 2026.

2. Applications are accepted only through the online system; no paper submissions will be considered.

3. Each student may apply for only one programme. Multiple applications will result in disqualification.

4. Before applying, students should consult their home department to ensure that their chosen host institution and study period align with their PKU academic plan and graduation requirements.

5. Admission requirements are subject to the host institution’s official guidelines. Any updates to the attached document will be highlighted in red.

6. Applicants must carefully review the host institution’s eligibility criteria, including GPA requirements, subject restrictions, exchange period (ensuring no conflict with the PKU academic calendar), year of study, language proficiency, and application deadlines. Failure to meet these requirements may result in non-admission, for which the applicant bears full responsibility.

7. If the host institution does not specify language requirements, applicants should submit CET-4/CET-6, IELTS, TOEFL, or GRE scores. For non-English language programmes, proof of proficiency in the relevant language is required. If no language certificate is available, applicants must explain their language background in the application notes for assessment. Applications without any proof of language proficiency and without explanatory notes may not pass the initial review.

8. Applicants who have not yet obtained the required language certificate may apply first and take the test later, provided they can submit a valid score before the host institution’s deadline. Due to high application volumes, shortlisting for interviews will be based on the strength of submitted materials.

9. Recommendation letters must be written by a faculty member from the applicant’s home department at PKU. For postgraduate students, the recommender should be the applicant’s supervisor. Letters must include the name of the recommended host institution, the recommender’s title and contact details, and be signed by the recommender.

10. International students may not apply for exchange programmes in their home country.

11. Students who are expected to be in their graduating semester during the exchange period are not eligible to apply.

12. To ensure credit transfer and academic progress at PKU, students must select courses relevant to their major at PKU. Mismatched subject areas may result in disqualification during the initial review.

13. Given the limited number of exchange spots, priority will be given to students who have not previously participated in an EAP exchange programme, all else being equal.

14. Students recommended by PKU who confirm participation may not withdraw unless under exceptional circumstances; withdrawal may affect future applications.

15. Applicants are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and authenticity of their application materials. Any falsification will lead to disqualification.

16. Selected students must complete PKU’s outgoing exchange procedures before departure and strictly adhere to the programme dates. Any unauthorised changes to travel dates or duration are not permitted.

17. Participants must comply with the regulations of both PKU and the host institution, as well as local laws. If a student’s academic performance or conduct no longer meets programme requirements, their participation may be terminated.
