Materials are the foundation of modern technology. This course covers synthesis principles and techniques for ceramics, metals, polymers, and composites, with emphasis on extreme‑condition synthesis.Topics include:

1. Overview, classification, and progress of materials

2. Crystallography, thermodynamics, and kinetics

3. Synthesis of metals, polymers, and ceramics

4. Crystal growth and thin‑film deposition

5. Special topics in materials synthesis
